The landscape takes centre stage. This is Tuscany at its most authentic, an idyllic countryside retreat just a short walk or a few kilometres from the storied town of Cortona. Perched on the same sun-drenched hillside as Bramasole, the home of Under the Tuscan Sun author Frances Mayes, and neighbours to Villa Ugo and Villa Sabatini (of local gin fame), the house sits at 490 metres above sea level, high above the Val di Chiana. The elevation brings with it not just sweeping views, but a distinctive microclimate that adds to the magic of the setting.

La Casa Cappellina is the ideal villa holiday if you’re looking for a private villa with pool that is relaxed, where you can pad around barefoot from pool to house, house to pool Al fresco dining in the evenings, watching sunrises at breakfast, lying in until midday, relaxing by the pool with a book, a drink, some music. The vibe here in the Tuscan hills is relaxed, rustic and rural. There are no airs and graces at La Casa Cappellina just a lovely renovated villa that sleeps up to 6 people (with one person sleeping on a put-up bed).
